Hall Details

Talaton Parish Hall is situated 2 minutes walk from the centre of the village with its pub, the Talaton Inn, the Church of St James the Great and Talaton Community Shop. Only 5 minutes drive from the A30 (on the road to Fairmile and Escot) and from Whimple and Feniton rail stations.

The hall's modern facilities with access to free wi-fi and full central heating make it an excellent venue for private parties, receptions, meetings, exercise classes, shows and concerts.

The main Hall is approximately 12.7m x 6.3m and can seat up to 100 people in theatre-style layout and up to 80 for dinners or lunches dependent on layout. Our licence also allows for up to 145 at standing only events.

There is a separate committee room measuring approximately 6.3m x 2.3m which can be hired on its own for small meetings etc.

The light, modern kitchen contains work surfaces for food prepping, a range oven, 2 refrigerators, microwave, electric water heater, 2 sinks plus a hand washing sink. There is enough crockery, glasses, and cutlery to cater for over 100 people.

We also have a stage with curtains and moveable stage steps. The committee room is located behind the stage and can provide changing and toilet facilities for performers. Lighting and projections can be operated from a separate multi-media room. 

There is wheelchair access, a toilet for the disabled and a loop system.

The minimum hiring period is 2 hours and this is to include setting up and clearing away. There is no additional charge for use of the kitchen or stage. A deposit is not required but the hirer will be expected to pay for breakages or any repairs required resulting from damage during the hiring period.

Discounted rates are available for regular users.

The rate for professional events is £20 per hour. For such events all tables and chairs will be set up as required and cleared away at the end of the event. The bar can be made available subject to negotiation.

In addition to the hiring fee a deposit is required for gazebo hire which will be returned if the items are returned in the same condition as that at the start of the hire period. The deposit for the 6mx3m gazebos is £100 and the 3mx3m gazebos is £50. Cutlery, China, cutlery and glasses must be washed prior to return.
